SPECIALIZED, COMPREHENSIVE CARE

Sara’s Garden was established in May 2004 and treated its first clients with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in April 2005.

Sara’s Garden is the only facility in North America to offer Autism Intervention, Conductive Education, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration and Speech-Language Pathology services.

Autism Intervention
Autism Intervention attempts to lessen the deficits and abnormal behaviors associated with Autism and other Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and to increase the quality of life and functional independence of Autistic individuals. Treatment is tailored to meet each child’s specific needs.
Conductive Education
Conductive Education is an intensive and holistic approach to educating children and adults with neuromotor disabilities. CE combines physical activity with cognitive tasks, emphasizes communication, and places the individual in a group setting which maximizes active learning.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the administration of 100% oxygen in the presence of pressure. The word “hyper” means “increased” and “baric” refers to “pressure.” HBOT helps the body heal from conditions in which low oxygen in the tissues inhibits or complicates the healing process.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is an allied health profession that focuses on teaching skills for everyday living. The practice of OT can greatly vary according to the setting and clientele. OT can assist to address issues at school, home or work which may be impacting someone’s day to day function.
Sensory Integration
Controlled sensory input has been shown to be effective in reducing stress and improving concentration, eye-hand coordination and motor function for children and adults with special needs, developmental disabilities, autism, chronic pain, stroke, brain injuries, and other conditions.
Speech-Language Pathology

Many conditions may cause difficulty with speech and language development. Speech Therapy works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.

Conditional handicap accessible housing is available on a limited basis for clients unable to commute to services daily. Additionally, local establishments offer reduced rates in conjunction with receipt of services at Sara’s Garden. A list of establishments, services and/or rates may be made available upon request.
