Support Chanelle Ramirez

 In Family Sponsorship

As many of you know, our world was turned upside down on April 13, 2018 when our beautiful daughter Chanelle suffered a near drowning accident in the bath tub. She was rushed to the hospital as paramedics worked frantically to revive her.

At the hospital, doctors informed us that the damage to her brain was catastrophic. They told us that she might never wake up again and urged us to remove her from life support. This was not an option we were willing to consider. As believers, we are praying and waiting on a miracle for our baby from our Heavenly Father. We believe that God will do a miracle in Chanelle’s life and in His perfect time, she will receive healing.

Since the time of the accident, Chanelle has not opened her eyes. She is not able to eat, drink, laugh, cry or smile on her own. She has a trach to assists to provide an airway for her breathing and to remove secretions from the lungs. She also has a G-tube inserted through her abdomen that delivers nutrition directly to the stomach as she is not able to eat by mouth. We want to do whatever we can to provide Chanelle with the best quality of life that we can. Recently, Chanelle received Mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs) treatment. MSCs are multipotent stromal cells that the body can differentiate into a variety of cell types to help with her healing and development. Since receiving this treatment, we have seen some encouraging improvements. Chanelle’s responses are faster and she is off the ventilator and only on oxygen at home.

We have recently discovered Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and learned that it has been extremely successful in treating people who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, such as near drowning. It stimulates stem cell production eight times over what the body can do on it’s own. It can also improve the client’s fine and gross motor skills, speech, thinking (cognition), memory, physical healing, etc. We’ve recently learned that there is a non-profit facility in Northwest Ohio that we can go to called Sara’s Garden. Sara’s Garden specializes in working with children with traumatic brain injuries.

Even though Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been very successful in treating individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), insurance companies in the United States do not recognize it as being therapeutic for the treatment of TBI and therefore will not cover the cost for treatments. That is why we could really use your help. HBOT for Chanelle is only $100 per treatment at Sara’s Garden. However, since our plan is for her to receive at least 40 HBOT treatments that cost adds up quickly, and doesn’t even cover our cost for travel, lodging and food.

If you could assist us with the cost (or even just part of the cost) of a single $100 HBOT treatment it would help reduce our overall expenses greatly. 100% of the funds received go into an account in Chanelle’s name and will be used for her treatments. Any contribution made would be considered a tax-deductible donation as Sara’s Garden is a 501(c)(3) non-profit facility. Checks can be made out to Sara’s Garden with Chanelle’s name on a sheet of paper accompanying the check. Please do NOT write her name directly on the check. You can also donate online via credit card by clicking on the DONATE NOW button below.

By the grace of God Chanelle is still here fighting every single day. We know there’s hope and we are looking forward to her being able to receive Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. Thank you so much for considering the support of Chanelle’s treatments at Sara’s Garden.
