There are so many things to be grateful for, yet every day feels like an uphill battle. I have been on this journey to find relief from chronic pain for such a long time. I have had some type of chronic pain or extreme fatigue for as long as I can remember. When it abruptly worsened in middle school, my family searched for answers from many professionals. It took many years to finally get a diagnosis of Chronic Lyme Disease along with several co-morbidities that come with it.
I immediately began a treatment regimen with a doctor specializing in Lyme Disease. There were a lot of ups and downs, but also temporary improvement along the way. Over the years, each protocol appeared to be helping, until it didn’t. I saw numerous Lyme specialists, physical therapists, chiropractors and others, only to find temporary or no relief at all for the brain fog, intense pain and chronic fatigue.
I have always had an interest in the medical field and I love to help others. I was able to complete my bachelor’s degree despite the continued struggle with Chronic Lyme symptoms. I am currently attending school part time to get my master’s degree in nursing. It has been so beyond difficult being in nursing school when some of the simplest things like brushing my teeth or standing up out of a chair cause so much pain. The brain fog that sometimes comes for what appears to be no reason is so hard to manage and makes studying so much more challenging. The unwavering support of my family and my belief that with God, all things are possible, are what has brought me this far and what will continue to guide me in reaching my goals.
When I was younger before getting diagnosed with Lyme Disease, I came to Sara’s Garden for HBOT to help with chronic pain. It made such a huge difference at that time, I knew it could help me again. I was only able to do a few sessions just prior to starting Nursing School two years ago and I know that is a big part of what has helped me to be successful this far. However, now that the pain and fatigue have returned so severely, my hope is to continue with HBOT treatments at Sara’s Garden.
HBOT has been extremely successful in treating people who suffer from many different infections and autoimmune conditions, including Lyme Disease. HBOT acts as an anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal agent. It has been shown to reduce pain significantly, alleviate sleep dysfunction, and reduce cognitive impairment. It also decreases inflammation and swelling, increases energy, and increases the body’s white blood cell activity, boosting the immune system and promoting healing.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Lyme disease is only $150 per treatment at Sara’s Garden (as opposed to $1,500-2,500 per treatment at a hospital). Unfortunately, in the United States insurance companies do not recognize HBOT as being therapeutic for the treatment of Lyme disease and will therefore not cover the cost of the treatments. That is why I could really use your help!
If you could assist me with the cost (or even just part of the cost) of a single $150 treatment it would help reduce my overall expenses greatly. 100% of the funds received will go into an account in my name and will be used for my treatments. Any contribution made would be considered a tax-deductible donation as Sara’s Garden is a 501(c)(3) non-profit facility. Checks can be made out to Sara’s Garden with my name on a sheet of paper accompanying the check. Please do NOT write my name directly on the check itself. You can also donate securely online via credit card by clicking on the DONATE NOW button below.
Thank you so very much for considering the support of my treatments at Sara’s Garden, I cannot put into words how thankful I am to have this opportunity! Your love and support will not go unnoticed or unappreciated!
Sincerely,
Katelyn Haberkorn
